Shaped with Pleats

Taking a look at minimal waste designs and the way fabric comes on a bolt I wanted to work on my waste by creating this design from only cutting out rectangles of the fabrics in order to avoid having to throw any of the fabric away at the end. By taking two long rectangles of the fabric I draped it up on the mannequin and pleated under the bust line and just a tack in the back. With this simplistic design and using the stripes in the fabric for measurements I was able to creat this gown that flowed on the body and followed the curves without having to waste a single scrap of fabric.
